Å

Å

Å is an authentic Norwegian fishing village on the Lofoten island of Moskenes. Since the 1990's tourism has become a major part of its economy and numerous old buildings were moved to the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, an open air museum, where you can experience what fishing folk used to live like in the old days. The museum includes old boats and a traditional bakery. Not far from the open air museum is the so-called Moskenesstraumen mealstrom. Å is a very scenic town and there's certainly no other place in the world that boasts such a short name.

Accommodation is available. Å is 900 km north of Oslo.
