Ålborg


Ålborg is the northern terminus of Denmark's railway system. The city was established in the middle ages and offers numerous interesting sites, including Budolfi Church, the 1762 Gammeltorv, which used to serve as town hall and the old market square. Two of the most important shopping streets are Algade and Bispengade. Jomfru Ane Gade is another famous street, lined with cafés, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Apart from the aforementioned ones, some other historic buildings include Jens Bangs Stenhus, Jørgen Olufsens Gård, Ålborghus Slot, the Håndværkerhuset.

At the summit of the 55 m tall Ålborgtårnet is a restaurant that offers great views over Ålborg. The harbour front is a nice place to walk around.
