There is nothing of interest to travellers in Abu Hamad. The town sits on the Nile River and it has a mosque and several hotels. There are train and bus connections with Khartoum and Wadi Halfa. Abu Hamad is 440 km north of Khartoum, on the banks of the Nile River.

Because of civil war it is not recommended to travel to Abu Hamad, or any other destination in Sudan at this moment.
