Addo Elephant National Park

Addo Elephant National Park (AENP) was founded in 1931 to protect the last 11 elephants that roamed the area. Since then the elephant population has increased dramatically and by 2025, there were about 700 elephants in the park, as well as countless other animals.
The park features a main camp with a swimming pool, a restaurant and accommodation. There is also a water hole that is lit during the night and a perfect place to watch animals. There are 8 other camps in the park.
There are 2 circular tarred roads, while most other roads are graveled, so it's accessible by 2WD vehicle.
The nearby city of Gqeberha is a good place to stay if you want to visit the park. Addo Elephant National Park is about 900 km southwest of Pretoria.
