Ahwiaa (Ehwiaa)

Ahwiaa, or Ehwiaa, is known for its wood carvings, arts and crafts, which include Ashanti stools and Akuaba fertility dolls, as well as masks, symbolic figures, bone and ivory beads and walking sticks. At the carving sheds, you can observe how the impressive carvings are created from solid barks of wood.

Ahwiaa is 9 km north of Kumasi and about 240 km northwest of Accra.
