Amalfi
Amalfi used to be a major naval power on the Amalfi Coast that stretches for 50 km (31 miles) along the promontory between Sorrento and Salerno. The surrounding area boasts dramatic scenery with awsome cliffs.
The town has some interesting sites. The most interesting one is the 11th century cathedral of Sant'Andrea, also referred to as Amalfi Cathedral, which is said to hold relics from the apostile Saint Andrew.
There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Amalfi is a UNESCO world heritage site.
