Bái Đính Pagoda (Chùa Bái Đính) is also referred to as the Bái Đính Pagoda Spiritual and Cultural Complex. It consists of several Buddhist temples on Bái Đính Mountain, of which the so-called 'Old Temple' and the 'New Temple' are the most important ones.
The original Bái Đính pagoda can be accessed by ascending some 300 stone steps up to the Ba Rau hills. The temple was built inside a series of caves.
The New Bái Đính Pagoda (Bái Đính Tân Tự) consists of a large temple complex on the Hoàng Long River. Construction took place between 2003 and 2010. The largest structure is the Tam Thế Hall and it was constructed adhering to traditional Vietnamese architecture.
The Bái Đính Pagoda Festival is held at the Bái Đính Pagoda every year on the sixth day of the first lunar month. The festival is popular with Buddhists from all over the world. During the festival Buddhist rites are performed in both the Old and New temples.
The Bái Đính Temple is located in Vietnam's Ninh Bình province, 100 km south from Hanoi.
