Bolama
Bolama used to be the capital of Guinea-Bissau in colonial times. It is on Bolama Island (Ilha Roxa) in the Bijagós Archipelago. There is nothing to see in this ruined town, as most of its colonial architecture in severely decayed.
There is no accommodation nor are there any restaurants on the island. You can camp on the island, but you have to be careful, as there are green mamba snakes. A bite of one of those snakes can be daedly. Bolama is surrounded by mangrove swamps.
