Bunga Forest Botanical Reserve (Vumba Botanical Reserve)

The Bunga Forest Botanical Reserve, or Vumba Botanical Reserve, is a private estate of 30 hectares of gardens and 170 hectares of forest and bush land. The reserve is in the Bvumba Mountains, in the east of Zimbabwe, some 20 km southeast of Mutare and 230 km southeast of Harare.

The area consists of forested highland and valleys with dense vegetation. The climate is cool because of the altitude. 'Vumba' means mist in Manyika and the park was established to protect mist-forest along the sloopes of the mountains.

From the top of Leopard Rock there are excellent views over the area.

There are several hotels in the area, but you can also stay in Mutare, where more facilities are available.
