Cascada de Basaseachi (Basaseachic Falls)

Cascada de Basaseachi (Basaseachic Falls)

The Basaseachic Falls are the second-highest waterfalls in Mexico. They plunge some 246 m (807 ft) into the depth of the Cañón Basaseachic (Basaseachic Canyon). To get there includes a bumpy three-hour ride in a 4WD vehicle and another three hours on foot from Creel, but it is well-worth the effort.

The falls are seasonal and dry up in the spring and autumn. They are located in the Parque Nacional Cascada de Basaseachic (Basaseachic Falls National Park) on the Río Basaseachic (Basaseachic River), 1,360 km northwest of Mexico City and 140 km northwest of Creel.
