Cayuga Lake
Cayuga Lake is 61 km (38 miles) long and between 1.6 and 5.6 km (1 to 3.5 miles) wide. It is in central New York. Cayuga Lake is the longest of the Finger Lakes. It is connected by canal and by the Seneca River with the Barge Canal to the north. Near the southern end of the lake are the 66 m (215 feet) high Taughannock Falls. Cornell University and Wells College overlook Cayuga's clifflike banks.
Cayuga Lake is 240 km west from Albany and 390 km northwest from Washington D.C.
