Chalchuapa

Most people come to Chalchuapa to visit the Ruinas de Tazumal, which are among the best preserved and most important Maya ruins in El Salvador. There is a beautiful colonial-style Catholic church in Chalchuapa.

There are several hotels and restaurants in Chalchuapa. The town has bus connections with San Salvador (usually via Santa Ana). Chalchuapa is 60 km northwest of the capital.
