Curieuse Island
Curieuse Island is only 1.5 km (1 mile) north of Praslin Island. It was a leper colony from 1833 to 1965 and the ruins of the leprosarium can still be seen. Nowadays the island is a marine national park and uninhabited apart from some guards and hundreds of giant tortoises. There are organized tours to the island and you'll need a guide to wander around. There are several interesting granite sculptures on Curieuse Island.
