Dapaong

Dapaong is a pleasant town in the north of Togo, not far from the border with Burkina Faso. The town sits in a cotton and rice growing area, some 540 km north of Lomé. There is little of interest in Dapaong, but it is a good place to stay if you want to visit the Reserve de la Fosse aux Lions, a reserve where large herds of elephant can be seen.

In Dapaong, the truck park for transportation to other places in Togo is quite far south of the center. Not far from the market you can find transportation in the direction of Ghana. There are numerous hotels and restaurants in town, as well as a small museum.
