Edfu (Idfu, إدفو)
Edfu is best known for the Temple of Horus that is regarded one of the finest monuments in Egypt. The nearby ancient town of Tell Edfu is well worth a visit too. There are some hotels and restaurants in town. Edfu is on the west bank of the Nile river, some 110 km north of Aswan. It has bus and train connections with Aswan and Cairo. Edfu is sometimes spelled as Idfu, Edfo, or Adfo.
