Figuig (فجيج)

Figuig, or Figig, is a small Berber oasis village with beautiful old houses and numerous towers. It is in the Atlas Mountains, not far from the Algerian border, about 560 km southeast of Rabat. The oasis features 'Tazdayt' date palms and the surrounding area is barren mountainous wilderness.

There are only a few hotels in town. It is only 3 km to the border and from there another kilometer to Beni Ounif, the nearest town, which is on the Algerian side of the border.
