Fort King George

The British built Fort King George is the only substantial remaining colonial fortification on the island of Tobago. Its historical significance and the marvelous ocean views make it well worth a visit. There are numerous cannons lined on the fort's old, stone walls.

The fort was constructed in the 18th century and it was named after King George III. The fort houses a historic and archaeologic museum, as well as several art galleries.

Fort King George is located in the town of Scarborough, on Tobago's southern coast, 100 km northeast of Port-of-Spain.
