Fort de Windt
The small 18th-century Fort de Windt is 3 km (2 miles) south of Oranjestad. It sits on the southern tip of Sint Eustatius, on top of the area's landmark white cliffs and offers good views of Saint Kitts. The fort was built in 1756 to protect the sea area around Saint Kitts.
The fort was never used and was abandoned in 1815. It was restored in 1981.
