Francistown
Francistown is said to be the oldest urban settlement in Botswana, dating back to the days of the gold rush. Nowadays it is the country's second largest city and has become a major staging point for the game parks in the north. Francistown may not have much to offer as a tourist spot, however, its convenient location makes it an important travel destination.
There is a small museum in town, as well as several churches and temples. In Francistown you will also find many hotels and restaurants. The city is 420 km northeast of Gaborone, close to the border with Zimbabwe.
