Gavmishan Bridge (پل گاومیشان)
The historic bridge of Gavmishan was built on the Karkheh river during the times of the Sasanian empire in the 7th century. The bridge is 175 m (574 ft) long and it has the longest arch span of any ancient bridge in the world.
Not long after its contruction, the Persian army intentionally destroyed the bridge to stop the invasion of Arabs during the Muslim Conquest of Persia. Despite of several restorations, all that is left standing are several arches and some foundations.
Because of the war with israel it is not recommended to travel to Gavmishan Bridge (پل گاومیشان), or any other destination in Iran at this moment.
