Gaya
Gaya is a pleasant town on the Niger River, 235 km southeast of Niamey, close to the border with Benin. It boasts some interesting Sahelian architecture and a busy market. It is also said to be the wettest place in Niger, averaging 800 mm of rainfall a year.
Accommodation is available and food can be obtained from the market or from the place right next to it. Gaya is connected with Malanville in Benin via a bridge.
