Gemena

There is nothing of interest in Gemena, apart from the lively market. In Gemena is a large mausoleum that was built in memory of Mobutu Sese Seko's mother, Mama Yemo, who died there. There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Gemena is 1000 km northeast of Kinshasa, on the main route to Bangui in the Central African Republic.
