Georgetown (Kentucky)
Georgetown was settled as lebanon in 1776 in the bluegrass country of northern Kentucky. In 1790, it was renamed Georgetown in honour of President george Washington. Originally, many settlers came to Georgetown for its Royal Spring.
Real growth didn't occur until car-manufacturer Toyota built a plant there in 1988. Nowadays, it's a rich agricultural, dairying and livestock area. Apart from the huge auto assembly plant, there is some light manufacturing in Georgetown.
