Hefei is a very large city and the capital of the Anhui province in eastern China. It is an industrial center and there are only a few places of interest to travellers in Hefei. The Temple of Lord Bao was built in 1066, not far from the tomb of Lord Bao. Li Hongzhang's Former Residence (李鸿章故居) dates from the 19th century. Xiaoyaojin Park is a public park on the ancient battlefield of Xiaoyao Ford. Hui Garden (徽园) is a nice park that was openend in 2001. Chao Lake is the largest lake in the Anhui Province. It is one of only five major freshwater lakes in China. Some other sites include the orphanage of Children's Welfare Institute, Anhui Laomingguang Stadium, Hefei Olympic Sports Center Stadium and the opera house of Hefei Grand Theatre.
About 35 km from Hefei is the ancient town of Sanhe Town.
Accommodation is widely available in Hefei, but other than being on a business trip, there is little reason why you should stay there. Hefei is 890 km south of Beijing.
