Helgafell
Helgafell is a just 73 m (240 feet) high hill with some temple ruins at the top, but in Icelandic literature and history is described as a holy mountain. According to legend you should only climb the southwestern slope to the top, without looking backwards; you must then descend on the hill's eastern side and any three wishes that were made for good and never revealed to anyone will come true.
Helgafell is only about 5 km (3 miles) south of Stykkishólmur and 105 km north of Reykjavík.
