Hukaung Valley Wildlife Sanctuary (ဟူကောင်း ကျား ထိန်းသိမ်းရေး နယ်မြေ)

The Hukaung Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as the Hukawng Valley Tiger Reserve. It was established in 2004 and it is the world's largest tiger reserve in a region that was once known as the Valley of Death. It got this name, when in WWII, thousand of refugees fleeing Japanese forces died in the harsh wilderness there. The sanctuary covers 17,373.57 km² (6,707.97 sq mi) of evergreen and mixed deciduous forests in northern Myanmar.
It is thought that around 100 tigers live in the sanctuary, as well as Civets, elephants, leopards and the endangered gaur, amongst others.
The Hukaung Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is located about 660 km north from Naypyidaw.
