Jacó

Jacó is a beach-resort and party town that is visited by many package-holiday tourists each year. Its black-sand beach is 4 km (2.5 mi) long. There are countless hotels, bars, discotheques and restaurants in Jacó. Surfing equipment can be rented there. Excursions to the island of Tortuga Island are available in Jacó.

Not far from jacó is Manuel Antonio National Park. The area around Jacó is good for hiking. The town is 70 km southwest of San José.
