Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park is the largest national park in Alberta's Rocky Mountains. It measures about 11,000 km² (4,200 sq mi). It was established as Jasper Forest Park in 1907 and renamed in 1930.
The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, as well as numerous springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains.
Jasper National Park is adjacent to Banff National Park. The main gateway into the national park is the town of Jasper, where accommodation, restaurants and shops are located. Jasper National Park was included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1984.
