Karo Batak Highlands

The Karo Batak Highlands are a good place to visit, if you are interested in some of Sumatra's most unusual domestic architecture. In the remote villages of Kampung Peceren, Lingga, Cingkes and Barusjahe, you can see distinctive Karo Batak houses with pointed roofs. Cingkes is the largest of the villages. There you can see at least two dozen of the houses. They are all in use and in good condition.
