Kaziranga National Park covers 430 km² of hills along the Brahmaputra River. It was established in 1905 as a reserve forest. The park is home to the rare one-horned Great Indian Rhinoceros, which is on the brink of extinction and for this reason it has been added to the UNESCO list of world heritage sites. Other animals that roam the park include bears, elephants, tigers and wild buffalo, as well as numerous bird species. The best way to visit the Kaziranga National Park is on the back of an elephant and most of the wild animals era easily seen.
February and May are the best months to visit the park. Kaziranga National Park is 1600 km east of Delhi. The entrance to the park is in the town of Narjan.
