Lake Taal
Taal is a beautiful volcanic crater freshwater lake, some 75 km south of Manila. It used to be known as Bombón Lake. In the lake lies Volcano Island, where the actual Mount Taal is situated. On the island are the towns of Look and Tabla, where accommodation is available.
Tours on the lake are organized. Upon arriving at Volcano Island you can go to its summit on horseback. The summit offers great views over the lake and the surrounding area. On the northern shore of Lake Taal is the town of Talisay, where sailing events are held. The town of Tagaytay offers a good view of the lake and the volcano.
