The 104 islands of the Langkawi group are little visited by tourists, despite their nice beaches.
The main island of Langkawi has direct boat connections with Thailand. The most popular beach on the island is Pantai Cenang and there are several hotels and restaurants. The highest point of Langkawi is Gunung Mat Chinchang. It can be reached by cable car. Once at the top you can take an inclined lift called SkyGlide to reach the Langkawi Sky Bridge that provides fantastic views over the island. On Lankawi, between Kisap village and Tanjung Rhui is the mangrove forest of Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. In the park you can see limestone caves, as well as wildlife such as bats, crocodiles, eagles, kingfishers, monitor lizards, macaques, otters, snakes and tree crabs. The Durian Perangin Waterfall is on the northeastern side of the island.
Other sites on Langkawi include the MAHA Tower in Kuah and the Relic of Mahsuri in Padang Matsirat. The hand crafted stone wall is 200 meter from Langkawi International Airport.
