Lunugamvehera National Park (ලුණුගම්වෙහෙර ජාතික වනෝද්යානය)
Lunugamvehera National Park was established in 1995 to protect the catchment area of the Lunugamvehera reservoir and wildlife in the area. Lunugamvehera is bordered by Yala National Park on one side and Udawalawe National Park on the other side.
There are 183 bird species in Lunugamvehera, as well as 21 fish species, 12 amphibian species, 33 reptile species and 43 species of mammals. It is an important habitat for water birds and elephants. Some animal species, such as elephants, migrate from Yala to Udawalawe via the Lunugamvehera National Park.
The park is 261 km (162 mi) southwest from Colombo.
