Makoko
Makoko is a slum on the coast of mainland Lagos. Large parts of the community is built on stilts along the lagoon. This waterfront part of the community is mostly home to the Egun people, who mostly make a living fishing.
Makoko is sometimes referred to as the 'Venice of Africa'.
