Mali-ville
The Guinean town of Mali is often referred to as Mali-ville to distinguish it from the country of Mali. It is also known as Maali Yemberen, or Maali Labe. Mali-ville lies high in the Fouta Djallon and has a very refreshing climate. It has a bustling Sunday market, which is famous for its honey-sellers.
The area around the town is perfect for hiking and the views are spectacular. The highest peak in the area is Mont Loura, 7 km (4 miles) north of town. It is 1538 meters (5044 ft) high. Not far from the mountain is the famous rock of La Dame de Mali.
Mali-ville is 330 km northeast of Conakry and served by minibuses from Labé.
