Maun

Maun is situated in northern Botswana, about 60 km (40 mi) southeast of Moremi, on the Thamalakane river in the Okavanga delta. It is an excellent place to start safaris into the delta, but there is not a lot to do in the town itself. On weekends ask the locals where the party is! It is a very special experience to join them and party all night long on the sounds of live bands.

Maun is the administrative center of the delta and home to the main airstrip. Flights over, and boat trips through the Okavango delta can be arranged from this town; there are many offices arranging trips.

Accommodation is widely available in Maun. There are also many restaurants in town.
