Mbarara

There is nothing of interest in Mbarara, but you might end up there travelling between Kampala and Kabale in the south of Uganda. Most of Mbarara was destroyed during the civil war and it has only been rebuilt partly.

There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Mbarara is 240 km southwest of Kampala and has frequent matatu connections with the capital.
