Melrose

Melrose is a nice market town in the center of the Borders. In Melrose are the remains of the old Gothis Melrose abbey. Sir Walter Scott led an effort to repair them in the 19th century. Abbotsford is a castle in the vicinity of town.

Melrose's market square is quite beautiful and the town's surrounding countryside is perfect for hiking. Other sights in Melrose include the motor museum and the town's marvelous gardens.
