Meuang Boran (Ancient City)

Meuang Boran, or the 'Ancient City' is billed as the world's largest open-air museum. The 80-hectare (200 acre) large theme park includes more than 100 scale models of Thailand's most impressive monuments. The grounds of the Ancient City are basically in the shape of the country and the monuments are placed accordingly. Meuang Boran is not far from the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Even though it is only 30 km south of town, it can take up to two hours to get there, depending on traffic.
