Mohéli National Park covers 643.62 km² of marine, coastal and terrestrial areas on and around the island of Mohéli. The park was originally founded in 2001 and expanded in 2015. It now includes about ¾ of Mohéli.
The marine part of the park extends into the Indian Ocean from the southern and eastern coast of the island. It includes a reef and the archipelago of Chissioua Ouénéfou.
Marine animals include bottlenose whales, coelecanths, dolphins, dugong, green sea turtle, hawksbill turtle, humpback whales and sharks.
There are countless small islets, where seabirds such as asked booby, brown noddy, great frigatebird, lesser frigatebird and white-tailed tropicbird can be seen.
The terrestrial part of the park is mostly located on the island of Mohéli. It includes the forest on the southwestern slopes of 790 m high Mont Mlédjélé. The forest is home to the Livingstone's fruit bat, which is endemic to Mohéli and Anjouan, as well as the Mohéli scops owl and the Moheli brush warbler, which are only found on Mohéli.
Also part of the park is the freshwater crater lake of Lake Dziani-Boudouni, which is located in the south of Mohéli. The area around the lake is home to a variety of birds.
