Mora is the capital of the Wandala people. The city is in the far northern part of Cameroon, 850 northeast of Yaoundé, not far from the Nigerian border.
The town has one of Cameroon's best markets, where all different ethnic groups from the region come to do their shopping (and selling). You may well see bare-breasted women sitting next to Muslim women covered from head to toes, both selling their wares. On the market you will find anything from painted gourds, jewelry, grisgris (necklace charms) to vegetables and animals.
In 1916, the German fort was the last fort in Cameroon, where the Germans surrendered during WWI. After the surrender many German troop managed to escape to the neutral Spanish colony of Río Muni.
You can get to Mora by bush taxi from Ngaoundéré.
