Moree, sometimes referred to as Mori, or Mouri, is a town on the Gulf of Guinea, 9 km east of Cape Coast. The town is the location of Fort Nassau, built in 1612 by the Dutch as a trade post on the Gold Coast. It was the first fort the Dutch built and the bricks used for the fort were imported from Holland.
