Motzfeldt Sø is a small town in the south of Greenland. The surrounding area is excellent for hiking and the nearby, scenic lake of Motzfeldt Sø is well worth a visit. There are numerous high peaks, some of them over 1600 m (5248 feet), all around the lake. The peaks are covered with snow and ice and the two glaciers that feed the lake, calve into the sea. The Qoorqup Kuua River drains Motzfeldt Sø.
There are several other interesting treks in the area and walks up to 6 days are possible. You can hike to the beautiful Qoororssuaq Valley, which lies between the peaks of Illerfissalik and Suusugutaussa.
Accommodation is available in Motzfeldt Sø. The town is 445 km southeast of Nuuk.
