Mount Selinda

Most people come to the village of Mount Selinda to visit the nearby Chirinda Forest Botanical Reserve. The reserve covers 949 hectare (2,350 acres) and it is Africa's southernmost tropical rainforest.

Inside the park stands Zimbabwe's biggest tree, a 1,000 year old red mahogany behemoth of 66 m (215 ft) high and 15 m (50 ft) thick.

Mount Selinda sits at an altitude of 1,00 m. The town used to be a mission station in Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands. It is not far from the border with Mozambique, about 30 km from Chipinge and has bus connections with that town. Mount Selinda is 320 km southwest from Harare.
