Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga province (former Eastern Transvaal) lies in South Africa's northeast, straddling the borders of Mozambique and Eswatini. The easternmost part of the province is occupied by the Kruger National Park. The rest is mostly occupied by the Drakensberg and includes awesome collections of natural features. It is a mountainous area where every bend in the roads will offer you another unique view.
Especially magnificent views are at God's Window, on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment. The Blyde River Canyon is another spectacular place. Scattered throughout the area are numerous waterfalls, as well as the Bourke's Luck Potholes, a collection of rock formations that have been shaped by the erosive force of river water.
If you want to visit Mpumalanga it is easiest to rent a car in Johannesburg and drive eastwards. There is plenty accommodation available in the many small towns scattered throughout the province. The most interesting towns include Barberton, Graskop, Mbombela, Sabie and Witrivier (White River).
