Narayanganj (নারায়ণগঞ্জ)
Narayanganj is a city in central Bangladesh, not far from Dhaka. The most important industry in Narayanganj are the textile sector, the jute trade and jute processing plants. For this it is sometime nicknamed the Dundee of Bangladesh (Dundee was city that was the location of the world's first industrialised jute manufacturing).
Not far from Narayanganj is the historic site of Panam Nagar, where you can see the remains of 13th-century buildings.
There are several hotels and restaurants in Narayanganj. The city is about 16 km (10 mi) southeast of Dhaka.
