Nyanga National Park is in the east of Zimbabwe, in the Eastern Highlands. It is a mountainous area, straddling the border with Mozambique. The park's headquarters is at Nyanga (Rhodes) Dam. Nyanga National Park is one of the oldest protected areas in Zimbabwe.
Interesting places to visit in the vicinity of the headquarters include the ruins of Nyangwe Fort, Chamowera Fort and Pit Structure, the Nyangwe Dam Trout Research Center and the Rhodes Museum.
Zimbabwe's highest mountain, 2,592 meter (8,500 feet) high Mount Nyangani is in the center of the park, 14 km east of Nyanga Dam and can be climbed. The World's View is 11 km above Troutbeck and offers spectacular views over northern Zimbabwe. The Nyangombe Falls are 2 km from Udu Dam.
There are many more waterfalls and points providing fantastic views over the area. The Nyanga National Park includes Rhodes Nyanga National Park and is adjacent to the Mutarazi falls park, where Zimbabwe's highest waterfall, the Mutarazi falls can be seen. The town of Nyanga is also worth a visit.
There are many camp sites and lodges throughout the Nyanga area, which is about 190 km east of Harare.
