Nzérékoré, or N'Zérékoré is in the southeast of Guinea, close to the Liberian and Côte d'Ivoire borders, some 580 km southeast of the capital. It is the major smuggling place and transportation hub in the southern part of Guinea.
Nzérékoré is situated in densely forested mountains that are excellent for hiking.
There is not much to see except for the bustling market. Nzérékoré is known for its silversmithing. One of the sights in the city is the Roman Catholic Cathédrale du Cœur Immaculé de Marie de Nzérékoré (Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral).
There are various hotels and restaurants in town. Minibuses connect Nzérékoré with the rest of the country and with Man in Côte d'Ivoire. Nzérékoré is about 570 km (354 mi) southeast of Conakry.
