Ojo is a residential town, 37 km west from Lagos and part of the Lagos Metropolitan Area. It is the location of Lagos State University, the Alaba International Market, Alaba Livestock Market (Alaba Rago), the old Lagos International Trade Fair complex and Iyana-Iba Market.

Across Badagry Creek are mangrove swamps and sandy beaches. There you can see reptiles, rodents, birds, crocodiles, iguanas, monitor lizards and squirrels. You might also see whales and dolphins there.
