Pagsanjan

Pagsanjan is a popular place for canoeing. There is a river and canoes can be hired to shoot the rapids and view the Pagsanjan Falls, or the Magdapio Falls. Since the area is frequently visited by tourists, you should be prepared to get hassled for money. Parts of Apocalypse Now were filmed in the region.

Every year in March, the Bangkero Festival is held. Bangkeros are the tour guides who steer the tourist boats along the river.

There are several hotels and restaurants in Pagsanjan, although many people prefer to stay in nearby Santa Cruz, where more facilities are available. Pagsanjan is some 65 km southeast of Manila, on the other side of Laguna de Bay.
